Looks like our Beneteau will be more than adequately equipped and I share the following information from the Moorings charter company in respect to the overall provisioning of the vessel.
Belize’s Protect Area Map. More than one-fifth of Belize’s total land mass is dedicated to nature reserves.
Today we are making plans to visit Reef’s End Lodge on Tobacco Caye in Belize as this will be one of the later stops on our sailing trip in January 2015. Rumours have it that this is where Gilligan’s Island was filmed, to be confirmed.
More to come but I have just been told by a friend at Belize Diving Services that we should be sure to “get into” a nice little shark cave by Tobacco Caye. We will have to wait for local knowledge for the exact location.
The Placencia Peninsula presents a microcosm of the best Belize has to offer. Over twelve miles of untrammeled golden beaches look out onto scores of enchanting cayes, the barrier reef and beyond that the pristine atolls. However we won’t stay in Placencia for long. We will arrive on Jan 1, 2015 and then provision the 42′ Beneteau – food, rum, beer – the neccesities! As for equipment it is already well provisioned by the Moorings charter company (www.moorings.com).
