With our friends at Belize Diving Services (www.belizedivingservices.com) we ventured on from Caye Caulker to Turneffe Atoll and were exposed to some of the best dives sites in the area. Fantastic corals, abundant sea life and amazing guides. Not to mention jerk chicken and ting for lunch and our surface interval. Our only links to civilization was the satellite phone and an arrangement with the local helicopter tour company in the event of an emergency. A must do dive site. We are looking forward to going back in 2015 to explore more remote areas of Turneffe Atoll, Lighthouse Atoll and Glover’s Reef.
Our first dive this trip to Cozumel was “La Francesca” we saw 2 nurse sharks, a massive moray eel as well as a variety of other species. Despite recent reports of hurricane damage the reef was in surprisingly good condition but the destination as a whole was much more popular than the 2001 visit!
